For 2020/2021 we’ve made some changes to our NQT and early career progression programme. We know what a challenging time it has been for the academic year 2019/2020 and have designed something to help support new teachers.
We have decided that our professional development package for NQTs will be underpinned by the Early Career Framework designed by the Government. This Framework has been designed to support NQT and early career teacher’s professional development. Moving forward the Government wants a two-year support programme for newly qualified teachers from 2021 and we want our programme to underpin that and start from now.
For 2020-2021 we will be offering training in the following areas:
- behaviour management
- pedagogy
- curriculum
- assessment
- professional behaviours
- maths
- literacy
- questioning – stretch and challenge
- SEND
- first steps into subject leadership
This year our training programme will be a blended learning approach which will include online presentations and some face to face sessions, when safe to do so.
As part of our programme our NQT/RQT teachers will also be offered:
- 2 individual coaching sessions
- A visit to observe a lead professional
