We are delighted to continue our successful RE training run by Amanda Fitton. Amanda is the RE adviser for the local authority and Standing Advisory Council for RE (SACRE) in Rutland, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Northamptonshire. She has also led RE at the University of Northampton teaching on both BA and PGCE ITT courses. She has been Head of Humanities in a large Inner city school in Leicester.

About the course

RE encompasses humanity’s most searching questions, its deepest hopes, the history of the world’s beliefs and their diverse manifestations in the modern world. This can be intimidating for teachers of RE. These sessions aim to support the non-specialist teacher be more confident in their curriculum and subject knowledge and will show how RE can be planned simply, creatively and effectively.

Join this enthusiastic network of teachers in this years sessions and take a deep dive into RE knowledge of the major religions. They will unpick the religions and develop RE knowledge exploring what is tradition, folklore and doctrine.

Session 2 – Islam and Judaism

Session 3 – Buddhism and Sikhism
